Drift is a sculptural wall piece from a series developed through a search for new ways of making. It began with a simple question: what kind of artwork feels right to live with now? What kind of object can feel close, soft, and present within a space?
This series grew from a desire to move beyond the flat wall. Each work is made on a custom curved panel, specially built for the series, allowing the piece to exist not only as an image but also as an object with physical presence. The curved form softens the geometry of the wall and gives the work a more intimate, spatial quality.
Painted by hand with charcoal on a board finished in polyurethane paint, Drift balances the smoothness of the painted surface with the raw expressiveness of charcoal. This contrast gives the piece a sense of quiet depth, softness, and emotional presence. The work feels light yet grounded, minimal yet deeply human.
The series is rooted in lightness, softness, and emotion. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the works are intentionally open, leaving space for personal feeling and interpretation. They are created to be lived with, not only looked at.
