Fossil is an original artwork painted with acrylic on canvas.

I chose this title because the work feels like something left behind, almost like a trace or an imprint. Not a fossil in a literal way, but more as a memory of a body, a gesture, or a feeling that once existed and stayed on the surface.

The brown tones remind me of earth, skin, dust, and old marks. The figure is not fully clear, but that is what I like about it. It feels partly hidden, partly discovered. Some lines appear like fragments of a face or a body, while others disappear into the background.

For me, this work is about what remains after something has passed. A movement, a thought, a person, or even a version of ourselves. It is quiet, but not empty. It holds marks, scratches, layers, and small tensions, almost like the canvas is keeping evidence of something that cannot be fully explained.

I wanted the painting to feel raw and physical, but also soft in its own way. Like something ancient and personal at the same time.
