Acrylic, oil pastel, dry pastel, charcoal
Everything is still there, just no longer in its place.
Scattered
There are moments when the familiar order of the mind suddenly gives way. Thoughts, impulses and half-formed memories overlap, contradict and interrupt one another, leaving no clear centre to return to. The figures and marks appear almost instinctively, as if the painting is trying to reorganise itself while falling apart. Scattered speaks about a state most of us recognise: when nothing has necessarily disappeared, yet nothing seems to sit where it used to.
