The Colour of Quiet
Media: oil, acrylic, dry pastel
100x150cm
This work started from a quiet, muted surface, but I didn’t want it to feel empty or still. I was interested in the kind of silence that has movement inside it. The lines, marks and small fragments appear almost like thoughts, memories or shapes that try to form, but never fully explain themselves.
Emotion is always very important in my work. I care about the feeling a painting carries, not only what is visible on the surface. Through each piece, I keep exploring something new inside myself — different moods, memories, tensions and quiet reactions that I sometimes don’t fully understand at first.
I like when a painting stays somewhere between drawing and painting, between something seen and something felt. There are soft colours, rough textures, small blue details and loose lines that create a quiet tension. For me, this work is about the things that are not said out loud, but still remain present.
The title The Colour of Quiet feels right because silence is not always blank. Sometimes it has its own weight, its own texture, and even its own colour.
