Vestiges is about the traces we carry from the past. I was thinking about Roman sculptures, faces, bodies and the way these classical forms still remain familiar to us, even when we only see them in fragments.
The figures overlap, disappear and reappear, almost like memories. Some parts are clear, while others are only suggested.
I often return to classical architecture, sculpture and art as a kind of measure of beauty. What fascinates me is that no matter how familiar these forms become, there is always something new to notice, reinterpret and bring into the present.
